DRAFT, NOT FOR PUBLICATION. First draft, 27 October 2026. It needs a solicitor's review before it is published, in particular the cancellation and refund wording (the UK subscription rules change on 1 January 2027), the liability limits and the US position. Placeholders are in
[[double brackets]]. Notes for the reviewer are in blocks starting "Reviewer:", and must be removed before publishing.
mylife/ terms of use
Last updated: [[date of publication]]
These terms are the agreement between you and Embrace AI Solutions Ltd ("we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales (company number [[company number]], registered office [[registered address]]), for using the mylife/ app and website. Our privacy policy ([[PRIVACY_URL]]) explains how we handle your data.
By creating an account you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use mylife/.
1. Who can use mylife/
- You must be 16 or over. We ask for your date of birth and turn away anyone under 16.
- One person, one account. Give us accurate details and keep your sign-in to yourself; you are responsible for what happens on your account.
- You must not use mylife/ if the law where you live forbids it, or if we have closed an account of yours before for breaking these terms.
2. What mylife/ is
mylife/ is a private place to keep your memories, life admin, everyday health, money and medication, plans and lists, and to share some of them with friends. It includes an AI mate that can find and do things inside the app for you.
We keep improving mylife/, so features may change, be added or be taken away. If we take away something important you are paying for, we will tell you first and, where it is fair, offer a refund.
3. Subscriptions and the free trial
Plans. mylife/ is a subscription, paid monthly or yearly. The price, the billing period and what is included are shown before you subscribe, including VAT where it applies.
Free trial. New subscribers get a 3-day free trial. You give your payment details when the trial starts, and nothing is charged during it. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends, the subscription starts automatically when the trial ends and you are charged the price shown. A trial is for new subscribers only, one per person. The App Store allows one trial per person for mylife/'s subscriptions, and Google Play applies its own eligibility rules.
Renewal. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, at the then-current price, until you cancel. If the price changes, you will be told in advance as the store you bought through requires, or, for website plans, by email at least [[30]] days before it applies, and you can cancel before then.
Where you bought it decides how you manage it.
| You subscribed through | To cancel | Refunds |
|---|---|---|
| The App Store | iPhone Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions; or the App Store app | Apple handles billing and refunds under its own terms. Ask Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot refund App Store purchases ourselves |
| Google Play | The Play Store, then Payments and subscriptions | Google handles billing and refunds under its own terms |
| Our website | Your account on [[website URL]], then Manage subscription; or email [[contact email]] | Handled by us, as below |
Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep everything you paid for until the end of the period you are in.
Your right to cancel (UK and EU customers who subscribe on our website). You can cancel within 14 days of subscribing. Because the service starts straight away when your trial begins, at your request, if you cancel within those 14 days after you have started paying, we refund what you paid less a proportionate amount for the time you have used. A free trial costs nothing, so cancelling during it costs nothing.
Reviewer: from 1 January 2027 (if Parliament approves the draft Consumer Subscription Contracts Regulations) UK customers also get a fresh 14-day cooling-off period when a free trial turns into a paid subscription and when a yearly plan renews, reminder notices before a trial converts and periodically after, and an easy way to leave online. The waiver for digital content does not cover the post-trial period. This clause, the app's reminders and the paywall copy will need updating for contracts made on or after that date. California's automatic renewal law already requires a reminder before a yearly plan renews; for website plans we must send it. None of these reminders is built yet.
Fair use. A subscription includes generous use of the mate. To keep the service affordable for everyone, there is a fair-use limit on mate messages each day, shown in the app. We may also limit other AI features, such as transcription, where use is far beyond what an individual normally needs.
If your subscription ends. Your account and everything you kept stay yours. You can still open, export and delete it all, but the mate and adding new things need an active subscription. [[Owner: confirm whether reminders and notifications keep running for a lapsed account, and say so here.]] If you do not subscribe again, we may delete an account that has had no active subscription and no sign-in for [[period, for example 24 months]], after telling you by email first.
4. Your content
It is yours. You own what you put into mylife/: your memories, records, messages and everything else.
What you let us do with it. You give us permission to store, copy, process and display your content only so far as we need to run mylife/ for you: keeping it, showing it to you and to friends you choose, transcribing, tagging and searching it, and sending what a task needs to the AI providers named in the app. This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in backups for the time set out in the privacy policy, and messages you have already sent to friends, which stay in their chats without your name.
What you promise. You have the right to share what you upload, and it does not break the law or anyone else's rights. Take care with other people's information and photos.
5. People and the house rules
mylife/ lets you add friends, chat, send voice notes, make plans and share lists. These rules apply to everything you send or share, and to the list drop link:
- No abuse, hate, harassment, threats or bullying.
- Nothing illegal, nothing sexual involving anyone under 18, and nothing that encourages self-harm or violence.
- No spam, scams or impersonation, and no sending things to people who do not want them.
- Respect privacy. Do not share someone else's private information or photos without their permission.
We have zero tolerance for abuse. Anything reported is looked at within a day. We may remove content, and suspend or close the account of anyone who breaks these rules, without notice where the harm is serious. You can block, report or leave a chat at any time, and blocking someone ends the friendship.
A list drop link lets anyone who has it view and add to that one list. Share it only with people you trust.
6. The AI mate
- It is an AI, and it can be wrong. It can misunderstand, miss things or state something untrue with confidence. Check anything important yourself.
- It is not advice. The mate does not give medical, legal, financial, tax or other professional advice, and nothing it says should be taken as such.
- Medication reminders are reminders, not advice. They depend on what you enter and on your phone receiving notifications. They are not a substitute for your doctor's or pharmacist's instructions, or for your own checks. Never rely on mylife/ as the only safeguard for medication.
- Not for emergencies. In an emergency, call 999 (UK) or 911 (US), or your local emergency number.
- It acts on what you ask. When you ask the mate to add, change or delete something in the app, it shows you what it did and you can undo it. Check what it did, especially before relying on it.
- Reports. You can report any mate reply. We look at reported replies to keep the mate safe; we do not otherwise read your chats.
7. Reminders and notifications
We work hard to send reminders on time, but delivery depends on your phone, its settings, your signal and Apple's and Google's push services, so we cannot promise every notification arrives. Do not rely on mylife/ alone for deadlines that matter, such as payments, renewals, legal dates or medication.
8. The vault
The vault is encrypted on your phone with a key made from your own answers. We never see the answers or what is in the vault, so we cannot recover it. If you forget your answers, starting again empties the vault for good.
9. Apple Health and other apps
Connecting Apple Health is optional and read only. Other services you sign in with or connect (Apple, Google) have their own terms, which apply to your use of them.
10. Using the app fairly
You may use mylife/ for your own personal, non-commercial use. Please do not: copy, change or sell the app; try to get at its source code, except where the law allows; get round its limits or security; use it to build a competing service; scrape it; or overload it.
The app, its design, the mate and our brand belong to us or the people we license them from. These terms do not give you any rights in them beyond using the app.
11. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from You, then Account, then Delete my account. Deleting the account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription: cancel it there too (section 3).
We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or if we stop providing mylife/. Where we can, we will tell you first, give you time to export your data, and refund any website subscription fees for the time you have not used, unless we closed the account because you broke these terms. If we ever stop providing mylife/, we will give you at least [[30]] days' notice.
12. Our responsibility to you
- We provide mylife/ with reasonable care and skill. If you are a consumer, you have legal rights that these terms do not affect.
- If something we supply as digital content is faulty and damages your device or other digital content, and that is because we did not use reasonable care and skill, we will repair the damage or pay you fair compensation.
- We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control, for business losses, or for losses caused by your own failure to follow these terms or to act on a reminder.
- Apart from the cases below, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for mylife/ in the 12 months before the claim and [[£100]].
- Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not let us limit.
Reviewer: please check the cap and the exclusions against the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the unfair terms rules, and say whether US customers need a separate limitation or dispute clause.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, for example when the law or the app changes. If a change matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. If you do not agree to it, you can cancel and delete your account.
14. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring a claim in your own courts, and if you live elsewhere you keep any protection your local consumer law gives you. If you have a problem, please contact us first at [[contact email]]; most things can be put right quickly.
15. If you downloaded mylife/ from the App Store
These additional terms apply between you and us when you use the iPhone app:
- These terms are between you and Embrace AI Solutions Ltd only, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for the app and its content.
- Your licence is to use the app on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as the App Store's Usage Rules allow, including through Family Sharing where that applies.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for maintenance and support. Apple has no obligation to provide any.
- If the app fails to meet any warranty that applies, you may tell Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. Apart from that, Apple has no warranty obligation for the app, to the extent the law allows.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for any claims about the app, including product liability claims, claims that it does not meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
- We, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging any claim that the app or your use of it infringes someone else's intellectual property.
- You confirm that you are not in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as supporting terrorism, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must follow any third-party terms that apply when you use the app, such as your mobile network's.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. Once you accept them, Apple has the right to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
